WINTER MAINTENANCE TRAINING
OCTOBER - APRIL
Winter Training provides stroke correction and dryland training to keep swimmers conditioned in the off-season and continue developing muscle memory from correct stroke technique.

WRASA Winter Training is limited to two (2) hours per week (Sun to Sat) abiding by the requirements to be a summer swimmer. 

​

Sessions are held Saturdays and Sundays and are one hour each. Swimmers are grouped by age and ability and can train up to two hours weekly. 

​

If you are done with swimming lessons and want more, or if you want to condition yourself for summer swimming, our Winter Training program offers an excellence balance of swim training and general fitness to get you ready for the competitive summer season. REGISTRATION - September

MINIMUM REQUIRED ABILITY

 

There is no minimum AGE requirement to swim with WRASA, however, all swimmers must be PROFICIENT on their own in the pool.

 

UNDER 8 YEARS OLD

Swimmers under 8 yrs old MUST be able to swim 25 metres of the pool.

They must complete this unaided, unassisted and without stopping or touching the wall or lane rope.

 

OVER 8 YEARS OLD

Swimmers over 8 be able to swim 50 metres of the pool.

This must be completed unaided and without stopping.

Swimmers must be able to do Dolphin Kick

Swimmers must have a basic knowledge or and ability to swim Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly.
